Goleta Declares Stage 1 Water Shortage

The Goleta Water District on Tuesday declared a Stage I water shortage, asking customers to voluntarily cut their use by 20 percent. Stricter stages ​— ​with mandatory reductions ​— ​could be declared in the future. “Conservation is critical to our ability to meet customer demand during the current unprecedented drought conditions,” said board president Bill Rosen.
