Public Help Sought in State Street Attack

The man depicted in the photograph is the suspect in an attempted sexual assault that occurred in a business on the 700 block of State Street on April 1, 2014 at 9:00 p.m.

The Santa Barbara Police Department is requesting the public’s help in identifying a suspect — shown in the photograph and video — in a recent attempted sexual assault. The man could have been involved in an incident on Tuesday, April 1 at 9 p.m. on the 700 block of State Street in which a man went in the back door of a business and attacked a woman. The photograph and video are from security footage captured by Killer B’s BBQ and Bar at 718 State Street — the crime didn’t occur there, police said — before the attack.
