Tony Vallejo  — an accountant who formerly chaired the Goleta Valley Chamber of Commerce, served as treasurer for Roger Aceves’s bid for 2nd District Supervisor, and recently expressed interest in running for council — was appointed to the Goleta City Council on 6/17. Vallejo beat out six other candidates for the position, which came about after Ed Easton resigned in May; Vallejo will hold the seat through 2016. He called the job “a great responsibility and a lot of work” — he supports revitalizing Old Town and ending the city’s tax-sharing deal with the county — and said he was “deeply, deeply honored” to be chosen.
