No on Measure S
I am extremely disappointed in SBCC. After decimating probably the best Adult Education program in the country, the school has its hand out, asking for almost $300 million plus interest from the very taxpayers who had benefited from the Adult Ed program.
What do they need the money for? They say they need it to upgrade and maintain the facilities. Measure V was supposed to do that!
They plan to tear down the Wake Center that they stole from Adult Ed and turn it into another SBCC campus, putting ever more pressure on available housing and pushing rents even higher!
Their enrollment already exceeds that of UCSB. All this while local high school enrollment is declining.
Please vote “no” on Measure S.
