[ORIGINAL REPORT]: Santa Barbara police are investigating a possible homicide after the body of a white male in his 30s was discovered near Yanonali and Quarantina streets this morning.

A passerby spotted the body at around 6:50 a.m. and notified a nearby Marborg Industries employee, who called police. There was reportedly a large amount of blood at the scene against the side of a building owned by the waste management company.

Transients often frequent the eastside corridor of the city between the Santa Barbara Rescue Mission and the Casa Esperanza Homeless Center. It’s unclear if the deceased man was homeless or not. Police detectives and investigators with the Department of Justice remain on the scene. No other information was released.
