Refugio’s 7,500-acre Sherpa Fire (pictured) is all but fully contained as infrared-equipped crews mop up remaining hot spots through steep, craggy terrain. The target date for 100 percent containment is 7/7. The cost of the fire has topped $16 million, and the cause remains under investigation.
