Both Caltrans and the City of Goleta are in the midst of preparing bicycle master plans for their respective areas. On November 9, Goleta holds two meetings — at UCSB and in Old Town — to receive public input on walking and biking improvements, safe routes to schools, and better transit access. The UCSB meeting takes place at noon at the UCen’s State Street Room; the second meeting, which includes Spanish translation, is at 5:30 p.m. at the Goleta Valley Community Center, 5679 Hollister Avenue.

Caltrans has been taking public comment on its Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan for about half a year. Its questionnaire remains open through November 6 and asks the community about usage and also their views on safety. The questionnaire can be found at cabikepedplan.org.
