Your editorial graphic showing the Earth struggling to escape a plastic bag is spot-on. We need to treat plastic as we do other hazardous wastes. Just because a profit cannot be made by recycling certain plastics is no excuse to add them to a landfill. We don’t dump e-waste, lead, or sewage randomly — why treat plastics any differently?
