Santa Barbara hosted the 10th annual Southern California Avon Walk for Breast Cancer last weekend, raising more than $4.7 million. The two-day, 39-mile walk featured eight-time Grammy-Award winner and Avon global ambassador Fergie as a special guest at the closing ceremony. The grants announced included $750,000 to the Avon Breast Care Center at UCLA and the Olive View Medical Center, $300,000 to the John Wayne Cancer Institute, and $125,000 for Project Angel Food. More grants will be awarded throughout the year to breast cancer programs across the country.
