Robert “Guy” Kraines was unanimously appointed by the Board of Supervisors to the county’s 11-member Board of Retirement. Kraines, a retired Santa Barbara resident who spent more than 25 years working in corporate finance and capital markets, beat out three other candidates after extensive interviewing Tuesday. He replaces Vanessa Patterson, who resigned last month.
