This weekend Solvang becomes a foodie paradise
during the 14th annual Taste of Solvang Festival. Friday, Saturday,
and Sunday will be full of goodies like a wine tasting tour, a
“walking Smorgasbord” with more than 50 stops, dancing, and live
music. For tickets and information visit solvangusa.com or call
(800) 468-6765 x105.

And while you’re up in Solvang, the 13 wineries
on the Foxen Canyon Wine Trail will be offering a Wildflowers &
Wine Passport. Just $25 gets you tastings at all the wineries,
special discounts, and free food and entertainment at many stops
along the way. March 17-20; passports are available at all
wineries; visit foxenwinetrail.com or call 344-2107.

Even though real Japanese Kobe beef is no longer
illegal,
it seems we’ve grown so fond of American wagyu
that no one cares. It’s so popular even Ruby’s Diner has rolled out
an American Kobe Burger and Chopped Steak. (And it’s one of the few
places you can pair your steak with a milkshake.) Ruby’s Diner, 601
Paseo Nuevo, 564-1941.
