The Santa Barbara chapter of the Surfrider Foundation and volunteers from local software company Citrix Online held a beach cleanup in Isla Vista on the morning of 8/24. Volunteers picked up about 30 bags of trash, weighing an estimated 350 pounds. Citrix workers received the rest of the day off for participating.
