Evanescence, a platinum record selling group, is set to rock Santa Barbara Bowl on Sunday, November 11. This band, which combines a dark edge with the hypnotic vocals of Amy Lee, sold more than 15 million copies of their debut album Fallen back in 2003. Their latest album, The Open Door, is on the same successful track – it sold more than two million copes in a little over a month, launching it to number one on the Billboard charts. Band members include vocalist Amy Lee, guitarists Terry Balsamo and Troy McLawhorn, bassist Tim McCord, and drummer Will Hunt. Two other groups will be backing up Evanescence including the hard rock trio called the Sick Puppies from Australia and Julien-K, who puts on an electronic rock act. Tickets, which go on sale this Saturday, September 22, at 11 a.m., cost $30 to $45. See sbbowl.com or call 962-7411.
