The land deal between the University of California at Santa Barbara and the Devereux Foundation of Goleta was finalized last week with UCSB buying 33 acres of blufftop property near Coal Oil Point from the Foundation. Though the financial terms of the long-simmering deal were not released, Devereux did sign a 60-year lease with UCSB for four of the 33 acres in order to continue offering their on-site residential services for developmentally disabled adults. As for the remaining acreage, UCSB recently formed a visioning committee to explore future use options.
