City Coucil Adopts Temporary Parking Plan for Modoc Condos

Amidst complaints from new condo owners that residents from the apartment building across Modoc Road are parking on their streets, the Santa Barbara City Council passed a 12-month program to limit access to the public streets that run throughout the condo complex to residents only. Given the silence of apartment-complex residents-largely poorer, Spanish-speaking people-most councilmembers were reluctant to approve any permanent residential permit solution. Meanwhile, the city’s Transportation and Circulation Committee will explore other options.
