Governor Vetoes Rent Control Bill

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger vetoed a bill that would have preserved rent control on all remaining spaces in a mobile home park, even if some of the spaces are converted to condo-style ownership. AB1542 was supported by Goleta, where rent-controlled parks provide scarce affordable housing, especially for seniors.
