Capps Objects to More War Funding

Announcing that she won’t support the Bush administration’s request for another $46 billion to fund the war in Iraq-which would bring the 2008 tab to $196 billion-Representative Lois Capps blasted President Bush for “simultaneously insisting that we don’t have the money to provide healthcare for 10 million poor children.” The amount spent on the war in 40 days would cover care for those children for a year, said Capps.
