The Santa Barbara School Board’s staff presented a report this week detailing the number of students who have transferred into the district from neighboring communities this year. According to preliminary numbers, 368 students-most from Carpinteria-have transferred into S.B. high schools and junior highs, and 286 transferred into area elementary schools-with most coming from the Goleta Union School District. This is expected to cost the district more than $160,500.
