In Rainbows

Radiohead

However much you spent on this album, don’t let the unconventional marketing techniques of Radiohead’s seventh studio release, In Rainbows, outshine the brilliance of one of England’s most widely adored rock groups. The album is a well-orchestrated catalogue of the myriad sounds Radiohead has presented audiences with before. With less electronic elements and simpler composition, it may lack the technical force of previous works, but tracks like “Weird Fishes/Arpeggi” and “Jigsaw Falling into Place” carry an organic energy all their own. As a rule, Radiohead albums are never short on enigmatic lyricisms, which Thom Yorke’s haunting voice echoes on tracks like “Nude” and “All I Need.” It seems as though the group has developed a synthesis of all their previous success, ironically producing an album worth paying full price for.
