The Santa Barbara County Fire Department put out a small brush fire that started on 11/29 on the northeast corner of where the Zaca Fire was stopped this summer, near Highway 33. Despite the fire technically being in Ventura County, Santa Barbara County Fire was much closer to where it began, near Brubaker Canyon. Fire officials don’t have a cause for the roughly five-acre fire, said Capt. Eli Iskow.
