The Santa Barbara Breakers, coming off a successful 17-6 inaugural season in the International Basketball League, will not be returning to the league but instead join a new circuit-the West Coast Pro Basketball League. Citing traveling distance for away games, owner, president, and coach Curt Pickering decided to start the WCBL with Jim Parks.
