Citizens gathered to celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on 1/21, the 40th anniversary of the civil rights leader’s assassination. A Brotherhood of Santa Barbara-sponsored rally at Santa Barbara High School led to a hundreds-strong march to Marjorie Luke Theatre at Santa Barbara Junior High, at which participants asked whether America has achieved King’s dream of racial equality. A handful of marchers carried signs decrying the 12/17 rape conviction of the Ghana-born Eric Frimpong.
