Capps Heads Healthcare Task Force

Rep. Lois Capps has been assigned to spearhead the New Democratic Coalition’s Health Care Task Force alongside House colleagues Jason Altmire and Allyson Schwartz of Pennsylvania. Citing 2006 health care premiums’ average cost of $11,480, the three said they will focus on fully portable insurance coverage, more timely approval of “follow-on” medicines while protecting innovators, and improved Internet technology for information sharing and e-prescribing.
