Congressmember Lois Capps praised the rapid accord reached between Democratic House leadership and President George Bush on an economic stimulus package which will give tax rebates of up to $600 for individuals. If the Senate agrees, the package will double the limit on expenses that businesses can write off, to $250,000 annually. It will make it easier to finance homeownership by raising caps on federal underwriting of loans.
