Winslet to Receive Film Festival Award
Titanic Actress Is First Person Honored Twice by SBIFF
The Santa Barbara International Film Festival (SBIFF) announced on Wednesday afternoon that actress Kate Winslet will be receiving the Montecito Award on Friday, January 23. This makes the Titanic and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind star the first person to be twice awarded by SBIFF, as she took home the Performance of the Year award in 2005. Since then, Winslet has drawn critical praise for roles in films such as Little Children and All the King’s Men. Though the five-time-nominated Winslet has yet to score an Academy Award, she has been generating a lot of buzz for her roles in the upcoming films The Reader and Revolutionary Road, the latter of which reteams her with her Titanic costar Leonardo DiCaprio.
