Being able to decide who has the most talent is not just for American Idol and Dancing with the Stars anymore. From Santa Barbara, Ventura, and San Luis Obispo counties viewers will be able to narrow the five performances down to a single one.

Starting May 30 from 8 p.m., viewers will be able to send in a text message to vote for who they think should win the Cottage Children’s Hospital and Children’s Miracle Telethon Talent Show. The telethon has been a Cottage Hospital tradition for more than 20 years, but the new texting twist allows voting to be easier than ever.

“It doesn’t require any work on our part,” said Maria Zate, a representative from Cottage Hospital. “It’s also set up so that there’s only one vote allowed per phone.”
