Law and Disorder 7-2

Despite a jury recently awarding some $2.2 million to 84-year-old fall victim Sylvia Saucedo stemming from an incident at Mission Terrace convalescent home, presiding Judge Thomas Anderle on 6/25 reduced the fines levied by more than $1 million. Anderle opined that there was “no substantial evidence” to support the jury’s verdict of willful misconduct by the administration and staff at Mission Terrace. Saucedo’s legal team plans to appeal.
