Santa Barbara’s stellar youth music program Notes for Notes ( currently is in the running for funding from Bonnie Raitt and Taj Mahal’s BonTaj Collective Action Fund, which donates a percentage of the artists’ ticket sales to nonprofs across the country. To help ensure Notes for Notes gets the funding it deserves, visit and vote for the Blues/Music Education category.


The American Institute of Architects, Orange County Chapter recently awarded architect Michael Patrick Porter with the Merit Award for his Cella Residence, a 2,500-square-foot home located in Santa Barbara. The house, a modern take on S.B.’s signature Spanish style, was one of only five structures recognized by the organization. For info, visit


Tickets for Season 26 of Sings Like Hell at the Lobero Theatre are on sale now. The series kicks off next Saturday, October 24, at 8 p.m. with Chris Smither and Jonah Smith.
