Deadly Accident on Highway 154
Woman Crashes into Truck Thursday Afternoon
A woman died Thursday afternoon on Highway 154 after her vehicle crashed into a truck just east of Cachuma Lake.
Santa Barbara County Fire responded to the incident just before 2:45 p.m., and it took firefighters 20 minutes to extricate the woman from her vehicle. She was taken to the hospital via ambulance, where she was pronounced dead.
The highway was closed in both directions for half an hour. The cause of the collision is under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
