The Santa Barbara Airport is now home to a self-service fueling station for general aviation pilots, a convenient option offered at most airports countrywide. The new facility, installed by MAG Aviation Fuel, allows local not-for-hire pilots to gas up on their own. This will reportedly save them around $2.85 per gallon that they previously paid for full-service stops, or $60-$80 per tank. MAG representatives said that the city collects 5 cents per gallon from all fuel delivered to the airport, and that there are no ramp fees associated with filling up at the new facility.
