Fatal Accident in Santa Ynez

An 80-year-old man was killed in a traffic accident this morning, June 2, at around 10 a.m. The incident — which occurred in Santa Ynez at the intersection of Highways 154 and 246 — involved a pickup truck and mid-sized sedan. It reportedly took responding crews more than 20 minutes to remove the deceased victim from his car. An ambulance had been called, but was cancelled.

Another man involved in the accident was treated for minor injuries, and the nearby road was closed intermittently while crews worked to clear the wreckage. The cause of the accident is under investigation by the CHP and the Sheriff’s Department.
