UCSB Art Museum Fills Two Big Positions
Two people well-known in the art world are stepping into two prominent positions at UC Santa Barbara’s University Art Museum: Bruce Robertson is now serving as acting director, and Jocelyn Gibbs has been appointed curator of the museum’s Architecture and Design Collection. Robertson is a professor of history of art and architecture at UCSB, was formerly chief curator for the Center for the Art of the Americas, and served as deputy director for art programs at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA). Gibbs served as associate director of the Canadian Centre for Architecture in Montreal and was previously head of special collections cataloging at the Getty Research Institute.
