Six cars parked along the 300 block of Elwood Beach Drive were set on fire on 10/25 at around 11:30 p.m. County fire officials, responding with four engines and three investigators, were able to quickly put out the blazes. No one was hurt and no structures suffered any damage. Elwood Beach Drive was the sight of two other similar incidents—one in June 2009, the other on 5/28 this year—during which a number of cars were intentionally torched. Authorities say they are investigating this week’s fires and their connection to the others.
