Pappas Runs Out of Time

Time has expired for Steve Pappas to petition the California Supreme Court, meaning a Court of Appeal affirmation of Superior Court Judge William McLafferty’s 2009 decision that there was no miscounting of votes and no fraud committed in Doreen Farr’s 2008 victory over Pappas to become the county’s 3rd District Supervisor will be upheld. Pappas would’ve had to petition the state’s highest court by 11/23. Because of the way the Election Code is written, Pappas had to sue Farr, putting her deep into legal debt. The Court of Appeal hasn’t released its decision on whether Farr can recover legal fees.
