DNA Links Man to Sexual Assaults
A 19-year-old Oxnard man was arrested this week for a series of crimes—including two sexual assaults—he allegedly committed on 12/4 in Isla Vista. Sheriff’s detectives identified the suspect, Quincy Brown, using DNA. Brown is accused of entering two unlocked apartments on the 6700 block of Sabado Tarde, accosting two women, and stealing a pickup truck.
In mid-December, authorities arrested a 16-year-old in the stolen truck and linked it to Brown, who provided a DNA sample. After the sample made its way through the labs, which were able to link it to the Isla Vista assaults, Brown was arrested on multiple charges including felony assault with intent to commit a sex offense during burglary. His bail is set at $1,000,000.
