After two years at the helm of Santa Barbara Channels, a tag team of two public access broadcasting channels, Keri Stokstad is stepping down to take a job at Pasadena Public Access. During her tenure, Stokstad navigated serious budget cuts, an acrimonious board dispute, and a major studio relocation. Despite these challenges, the station managed to survive, and Stokstad helped relocate the station from palatial digs in outer Goleta to a new space on Salinas Street. Not only is the new space considerably more affordable, but it’s also been underwritten by the Hutton Parker Foundation, giving the Channels much needed financial stability during fiscally uncertain times. Stokstad said she’s leaving only because the new post offers her an irresistible opportunity.
