Aside from celebrity showcases and never-before-seen films, one of SBIFF’s biggest draws are the weekend panels where industry insiders talk shop in front of a few hundred fans. The participants for this weekend’s panels, the always popular “Directors on Directing” and “Movers and Shakers” (for producers), were announced last night, and as usual, they include some of today’s most celebrated and best-selling names in show business.

On Saturday, February 4, at 11 a.m., “Directors on Directing” will be moderated by Variety‘s Peter Bart and feature directors Gore Verbinski (Rango), Michel Hazanavicius (The Artist), Paul Feig (Bridesmaids), Terry George (The Shore), Jennifer Yuh Nelson (Kung Fu Panda 2), and Chris Miller (Puss in Boots).

Then at 2 p.m. on Saturday, “Movers & Shakers” will be moderated by the Los Angeles Times columnist Patrick Goldstein and feature producers Letty Aronson (Midnight in Paris), Jim Burke (The Descendants), Bill Pohlad (The Tree of Life), Mike De Luca (Moneyball), Thomas Langmann (The Artist), and Graham King (Hugo).
