Santa Barbara police have released still images of surveillance footage they believe captured the suspect in the recent string of parking lot kiosk robberies. The footage was taken by a security camera at a business near the target of this week’s robbery: City Lot 7 at 1100 Anacapa Street.

The video’s time stamp, say police, shows the suspect entering the business minutes before he confronted the kiosk attendant. After the robbery took place, the suspect reportedly ditched the orange vest he was wearing to blend in with the downtown crowd.

Police believe he is responsible for two other kiosk robberies in recent weeks. In each instance, the suspect, wearing a cloth over his face, approached the kiosk operators with a handgun and demanded money from the register. He made off with an undisclosed amount of cash each time. No one was hurt in the incidents.

Anyone with information about the identity of the suspect is urged to contact Santa Barbara detectives at (805) 897-2355.
