The Santa Barbara Foresters are off on their most distant regular-season road trip this weekend – a three-game series against Team Vegas – but beginning June 19, the National Baseball Conference champions will play 11 home games in 13 days.

With a 6-3 victory in Las Vegas on Friday night, the Foresters improved their record to 8-5 overall and 3-1 in the California Collegiate League. They have recorded five consecutive wins after a slow start.

San Luis Obispo Blues (6-2 in the CCL) will open a three-game series to kick off the Foresters’ home stand on Tuesday.

Reef & Run, a weekly series of ocean swims, will launch its fourth summer season Thursday, June 21, at East Beach. The first event will be free to all comers. Registration begins at 5:30 p.m. There is a new 500-meter course for novice swimmers, as well as courses covering a kilometer and a mile.

On select weeks, the Reef & Run will include a biathlon event (1k swim and beach run). A season pass will cost $120, and a single-event entry $15. The series will benefit the Santa Barbara Junior Lifeguard program. Information: reefandrun.org .
