Supporters March for Measures A and B

Supporters of parcel tax Measures A and B marched from the public library to De la Guerra Plaza last Wednesday where teachers, students, and alums expounded on the importance of music and arts education. Joyce Adriansen, a Santa Barbara High School math teacher in attendance, pointed out that the current parcel tax H, which would be replaced by A, not only bolster the arts, but limits freshman English and math class sizes to 20. “It’s tough to say hello to each of your students every day,” let alone give them individual attention, she said, when there are 38 — the maximum allowed in the district — in a class.
