Thanksgiving conjures thoughts of feasts and the gathering of friends and family, but not everyone can achieve that. That’s why the Organic Soup Kitchen has hosted a free Thanksgiving dinner for the Santa Barbara community for the past three years. And this year, they are doing it again. In 2011, more than 1,000 homeless and low-income folks received a meal that included turkey, gravy, mashed potatoes, and pumpkin pie — all donated from area businesses. In addition to yummy food, there will be live music and kids’ activities. The dinner takes place Thursday, November 22, 1-5 p.m., at the Veterans Memorial Building (112 W. Cabrillo Blvd.).
