Santa Ynez Valley Polo Classic Mounts Up for An Encore Performance
Platinum Performance triumphed over Cinque Stelle at the inaugural Polo Classic on July 21, 2012. The winning team was comprised of Polo Hall of Famers Carlos and Memo Gracida as well as local player T.J. Barrack.
The Polo Classic was a benefit for Santa Ynez Valley People Helping People and in addition to a fast-paced three-chucker polo match, the day included a champagne reception for sponsors, patrons, and VIP guests and a three-course sit down luncheon. VIP Guests were invited to dress for the occasion, with creative hats for the ladies encouraged. A celebrity-judged Hat Contest was conducted with winners earning beautiful gift baskets. In addition, there was an opportunity to win fabulous prizes in the Para Charity drawings.
More than 250 VIP guests were joined at the 1st Annual Polo Classic by over 360 general admission ticket holders who sat in stadium type seating and in a “pub” and food court on the north side of the polo field. Food, soft drinks, beer and wine were available for purchase.
According to Fahim Farag, PHP Associate Development Director, the dramatic panoramic views of the Circle JB Polo Ranch, perched on a bluff above Buellton together with great ticket sales and sponsors, made the first Polo Classic a success. Farag said, “I expect the Classic to be an annual event for many years.”
In fact, the Bakers have announced the date for the 2nd Annual Santa Ynez Valley Polo Classic, Saturday, July 20th, 2013. VIP tickets, available now for $250 each, include preferred parking and shuttle service, a champagne reception, comfortable tented seating, lunch, para-charity drawings, and a hat contest. Patron level tickets which include VIP benefits, tickets to additional PHP events, PHP service sponsorships, and polo program acknowledgements are also available. General admission tickets will once again include parking and shuttle to the field and field level seating close to the action.
