Minuteman 3 Test Launch Still on Hold
The test launch of an intercontinental ballistic missile out of Vandenberg Air Force Base is still on hold because of ongoing tensions between North Korea and the United States. Originally scheduled for 4/14, the Minuteman 3’s launch was called off by Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel who worried the test would be misinterpreted by Pyongyang as a direct act of aggression. The exercise is now set for sometime in May. The last Minuteman 3 test launch took place at Vandenberg in November 2012 and delivered a dummy warhead to the Marshall Islands in the Pacific Ocean, 4,200 miles away.
