A 15-year-old was stabbed three times in the back Wednesday evening on the corner of Santa Barbara and Canon Perdido streets, but police have so far not identified or arrested any suspects.

Lt. Todd Stoney said officers responded to the scene at around 6:30 p.m. to find the male victim bleeding from his wounds. He was treated at the scene and transported for the hospital for further care, but is expected to make a full recovery.

Witnesses saw two young Hispanic males fleeing the area — the victim is also Hispanic — and though police canvassed the area and looked at security camera footage from nearby businesses, they were not able to locate the suspects.

It’s not clear if the incident was gang-related. Detectives continue to investigate, Stoney said.
