A 20-year-old Isla Vista resident was stabbed Tuesday night as he walked along West Figueroa Street in downtown Santa Barbara, police report. According to SBPD spokesperson Sgt. Riley Harwood, the victim was walking on the 00 block of Figueroa when he was attacked by multiple assailants. “The victim exchanged punches and grappled with the suspects until they fled the scene,” Harwood said. “After the suspects left the victim realized that he had been stabbed during the altercation.” He walked to a nearby relative’s house and was taken to the hospital where he was treated for the non-life threatening wound. Harwood said investigators haven’t determined if the incident was gang-related, and that additional details are being withheld at this time.
