Elks Lodge 613 works tirelessly to strengthen our Community by providing educational activities for local veterans in need. Once a month Elks invite veterans to the Lodge for lunch . Each event features a speaker who presents on topics such as PTSD treatment, Hospice “Veteran to Veteran” volunteer program, healthy living, and benefits and resources available to veterans. Each veteran leaves with needed supplies and the knowledge that they have support from each other and from the Elks.
This project was made possible by a grant from the Elks National Foundation, the charitable arm of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks. Through its Community Investments Program, the Elks National Foundation awards grants to local Elks Lodges to help the Elks strengthen their communities. This year, the Elks National Foundation will award $6.5 million in grants to benefit Elks communities.
