Carpinteria-Summerland Fire Protection District Director Passes Away
It is with great sadness that the Carpinteria-Summerland Fire Protection District announce the death of Director Robert (Bob) Duncan. Bob passed away peacefully Wednesday, January 29 at approximately 1:30pm in Santa Barbara, California. Bob was born September 24, 1934.
Director Duncan was a board member for 13 years. “Bob was a good friend who cared deeply for our community and our fire district,” said Chief Mike Mingee.
Director Duncan was responsible for the Veteran’s Memorial Park located on Lillie Avenue, next to Fire Station 2 in Summerland. He was an active member of the Sons of the Union Veterans of the Civil War.
In lui of flowers, the Carpinteria-Summerland Fire District has set up The Bob Duncan Memorial Fund for restoration of the Veteran’s Memorial Park on Lillie Avenue in Summerland. Contact the fire district for details. (805) 684-4591
