D'Vine Cafe
Jen Villa

Today marks the closing of David Faiia’s 10-year-old downtown Santa Barbara business, D’Vine Café. The sign in the window reads: “Public Notice of Application For Ownership Change.” Faiia wished the new business owners luck, saying, “I hope they do honor to the spot.” The 205 West Canon Perdido Street property will be taken over by a new restaurant called Barbareño.

When he decided to sell, Faiia expected the property to stay on the market for about a year, so he was very surprised when it sold in less than two months. Faiia and his fiancée plan to travel the United States, go on a honeymoon in Italy and then figure out their next venture. When asked how he will adjust to the big change, Faiia responded, “I’m gonna be lost for a little bit, but eventually I’ll come back and sit down and be a customer here.”
