SANTA BARBARA, CA – Over 200 golfers teed off at the Crystal Springs Resort in Hamburg, New Jersey for a good cause at the 5th Annual Vitamin Angels Benefit Golf Outing on Monday, May 5. The event, co-hosted by The Vitamin Shoppe and Nature’s Value, Inc., raised over $370,000 for Vitamin Angels, bringing the total raised during the 5-year course of the event to almost $2,000,000.

“What a difference we have made,” said Doug Jones, Senior Vice President of Merchandising for Vitamin Shoppe. “The hundreds of thousands of children that will get vitamins in the coming year would smile and say, ‘thank you’ for the help that was provided them through this fundraiser.”

Aside from an enjoyable time on the course in good company, golfers had the chance to win hole-in-one prizes on all of the par 3 holes, participate in a raffle and bid on silent auction items. Following golf, attendees enjoyed a cocktail reception and dinner.

“Five years of co-hosting this event with the Vitamin Shoppe has gone by so quickly,” said Oscar Ramjeet, the President of Nature’s Value. “The amount we have raised and children we have helped show the true heart and soul of the people in our industry.”

As part of the evening’s events, Howard Schiffer, the President and Founder of Vitamin Angels, was the featured guest speaker.

“This marks the 5th year of the Vitamin Shoppe and Nature’s Value Golf Event for Vitamin Angels,” said Schiffer. “The 5th year is also a major milestone for children who are facing chronic undernutrition. If we can help children reach their 5th birthday, they have a good chance of being able to lead full and productive lives. We are grateful to all the participants for their continued support!”
