The free summer meals program kicked off this week and will last until August 6. The Santa Barbara Unified School District will be offering breakfast (8 a.m. – 9 a.m.) and lunch (11 a.m. – 1 p.m.) every weekday at six locations: Franklin Elementary School, Monroe Elementary School, La Cumbre Junior High, Westside Neighborhood Center, Parque de los Ninos (lunch only), and Bohnett Park (beginning 7/23). Adults can eat for $3 – $4. Last summer, the program served over 50,000 meals; the district is expecting to serve 75,000 this year.
